Outlook errors when sending and receiving (0x800ccc0d, 0x800ccc0f, 0x800ccc19)

If you are encountering errors in Outlook or Outlook Express when sending and/or receiving email, with error codes 0x800ccc0d, 0x800ccc0f, or 0x800ccc19, here is a recap of the error messages and a list of most likely symptoms.

These are the typical messages received:

The server could not be found. (Account:account name, POPserver:'mail', Error Number: 0x800ccc0d)

Task 'server name - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800ccc0f): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: ? K'

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account. account name, Server: 'server name', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): N0, Error Number: 0x800ccc0f

These error messages may occur if Outlook or Outlook Express cannot establish a connection with the e-mail server. These error messages are frequently caused by one of the following:

  1. Incorrect account settings:

    Make sure your account settings are correct. Typically, the account settings should be as follows:

    • POP Server: mailhost.ssmedia.com
    • SMTP Server: (your ISP's SMTP server), or in rare instances, mailhost.ssmedia.com (SMTP authentication, port 587)
    • Username: youremail@yourdomain.com
    • Password: your email password

    If you are unsure of your account settings, please contact us.

  2. Misconfiguration of personal firewall software
  3. Antivirus software
  4. A bad modem
  5. Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size
  6. Outlook Express has been removed from the computer or the installation is damaged
  7. Your user profile in Outlook is damaged
  8. An e-mail item on your POP3 server is damaged
